One of the Original Machines in operation today.

Don Barger, Centralia, IL ran the Illinois Machine for many years before his timely death in Arcadia, WI at a horspull in 1973. In 1974, Steve Lance, Watertown, WI, purchased the old Illinois Machine from Don's daughter, Maxine Kline and ran this dynamometer until his passing in 2005.

Now named the Lance Machine, it is one of the original machines built from the University in Iowa, that was rebuilt on a 1952 flat head FORD when Barger had it.

Steve Johnson, Cambridge, WI has purchased it from Wanda Lance after Steve's passing in 2005. Johnson still calls it the Lance Machine.
